A unique activity break designed for anyone new to running or wanting to get started!

The Ragdale Running Break for Beginners is the perfect introduction to running, whether you've made a tentative start or haven't got beyond thinking about it. You might want to run for fun, for your health - or maybe you've got your eye on working up to a 5 or 10k (or even a half or full marathon!)

Join us at Ragdale for the Ragdale Running Break for Beginners and you'll be part of a small group of like-minded guests under the guidance of Michelle Read for all your sessions. Michelle is a highly experienced instructor with many marathons to her name - but don't worry, no marathons are included on the break!

Michelle will introduce you to the basics of running, including an assessment of your individual running style with guidance on technique. Sessions will be both indoor and outdoor, so please bring suitable clothing and trainers (and while we do usually enjoy sunshine in September, please do come prepared for the British weather!)

There will also be plenty of time for relaxation and pampering, Ragdale style! Take time to enjoy our unique Thermal Spa, pools, relaxation areas and glorious gardens. You are also welcome to join additional exercise sessions from our comprehensive daily timetable of indoor, outdoor and pool-based classes, should you wish. A 40-minute pampering treatment is also included in your two-night Break.

         


Your exclusive Ragdale Running Break for Beginners itinerary includes:

• A mix of runs of different distances and at varying paces
• Technique clinic to help your discover the most efficient running style for your own biomechanics
• Nutrition tips to help you to meet your goals
• Specific strength and Pilates training to tone the lower body and core muscles
• Stretching workshop to help improve performance and reduce the risk of injury
• 'Let's talk About Running' - talk and Q&A session, packed with handy self-help tips and advice on designing your own training plan, and anything you'd like to ask
• Breakfast served to your room, three course buffet lunch and three course dinner
• Choice of one 40-minute treatment from Calming Back and Scalp Massage, Prescription Facial or Classic Pedicure (for men, a Refreshing Foot Therapy)
• Check-in from 2pm on Thursday and prepare for your first session at 3pm
• Departure 2pm on Saturday
