Sometimes the smallest gestures can mean the most. Random Acts of Kindness Day, takes place every year on the 17th February. In this blog, we are taking a look at ways we can be kind to others by being kind to ourselves first.
Time to yourself
We always hear that taking time out is important for our mental and physical well-being, but we never actually press that pause button. We feel guilty for not being more productive with a huge list of priorities to contend with. Setting aside just 20 minutes a day to simply stop, reflect and check in with ourselves can make such a difference, you’ll be surprised what your body is trying to tell you. By taking some time out to reassess, reprioritise and refuel can leave you feeling more confident less overwhelmed and in turn, free your mind to focus on the here and now.
Learn to say no
This can sometimes be difficult, especially if you struggle with self-doubt or low self-esteem. But, learn to say no to things that no longer serve you or will cause you to extend too far past your comfort zone and shake your confidence. We are made to grow and adapt but sometimes we have outgrown a person or situation, yet continue to interact . Find the strength to turn away from circumstances or people that no longer bring you joy. It will enable you to be your best possible self and radiate positivity to others without continuously feeling drained.
Connect with nature
If you’re looking for a way to feel more in-tune with your innermost thoughts and feelings, nature offers a wonderful opportunity to do this. Spending time outdoors and in nature has an abundance of benefits for our mental wellbeing, so try to make sure you get outside every day, even if it’s just for a short walk. Through clearing your mind, you feel more equip to think logically and efficiently, plus you can cast away feelings that aren’t helping your productivity. By calming your mind through nature, you are in a much better position to help solve problems and lighten your burden.

Sometimes surrounding yourself with likeminded people, in a different setting can help you breathe a little easier.
