National Complementary Therapy Week

This National Complementary Therapy Week (20th to 26th March) aims to spread awareness for those natural, holistic treatments that focus on finding your inner harmony while helping you stay in tune with your body and mind. In this blog our Specialist Practitioner, Dr. Heli Goode, guides us through what to expect when experiencing her most popular complementary treatments.

Hormone Harmony – Menopause Explained

This tailored treatment begins with a consultation to help you understand the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, and how to identify the most likely contributing factors such as diet, addictions (smoking, drinking), sleeping habits, loss of motivation to exercise, stress and general anxieties.

You will receive expert guidance on how to overcome your symptoms using alternatives to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and gaining understanding on homeopathic medicines. Dependent on what is best for you and your journey, Dr. Heli will design your own MENOplan and MENOdiet to help with the transition into your new chapter. Dr. Heli says, “Reaching the change is not the end of femininity and beauty [but to] transform into wisdom and graceful maturity”.

With a myriad of different yet common symptoms, learning to understand and accept these changes can give you the confidence to navigate this natural experience and help you feel more in control. With the help of our Hormone Harmony treatment, you will leave feeling ready to take on the world once more.

Food Intolerance Test and Nutritional Consultation

Millions of people suffer from food sensitivity/intolerance and it can be difficult to pinpoint exactly when an intolerance to a certain food begins. For many people the problems start with a headache or poor digestion, bloating, and stomach pain and slowly over the years, lead to new symptoms, e.g. skin complaints, mood swings, or feeling constantly tired.

Dr. George Goodheart discovered in the 1960’s, that muscles communicate with organs via nerves and the spine. The nerves in your body create an electrical circuit and wherever there is an imbalance in the circuit due to exposure of a certain food, the muscles work less effectively. This practise developed into the treatment Applied Kinesiology. By creating small vials containing different food and drink, and placing them in your hand, Dr. Heli monitors the strength of your muscles to indicate if you are having a mild reaction to a certain food group.

Dr. Heli will note your results, giving you a clear understanding of what food groups to avoid or find an alternative. Dr. Heli recommends having a yearly check up to stay on top of your intolerances is best practise, as intolerances tend to change overtime. By staying in control of you gut health and learning about what complements your body, this allows your digestive system to heal and become stronger which will therefore improve your immune system and your overall well-being.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic Acupuncture is a natural alternative to cosmetic surgery which is designed to help reduce the signs of ageing through ancient Chinese medicine.

The treatment begins with a thorough consultation, followed by a gentle relaxing cleanse of the face and the application of fine acupuncture needles to the areas of concern which will be determined and discussed in your consultation.

You will also enjoy a unique anti-ageing massage using jade rollers combined with a relaxing drainage massage using the ancient art of cupping. Cupping is an old practise but just as effective as it was back then. Using silicon cups and heat draws out toxins, relieve stress and stimulate blood circulation whilst restoring the skin’s natural tone and revealing a youthful radiant glow.

This treatment helps to increase collagen production which in-turn refines lines and wrinkles, lifts, firms and tones the contours of the face and neck.

Treatment time: 50 minutes   Price: £96
