Get fit and fabulous with Nordic Walking Part 1

With most of the harsh winter weather behind us (we hope!), daffodils blooming and Easter just around the corner, it can mean only one thing – spring is on its way!

With a new season upon us now is the perfect time to reboot, recharge and get yourself out and about in the great outdoors, and our Nordic Walking Break offers the perfect solution.

On our Nordic Walking Break (10th – 12th May 2018) you’ll join a small group of like-minded people, while learning a new skill with a recognised instructor (and in a stunning location, if we may say so ourselves!).

For those not familiar with the sport, Nordic walking is a simple but effective way to exercise and can contribute significantly towards general wellbeing too.

Now in its third year, we’ve tailored our Nordic Walking break with Caroline Fisher (of Nordic Walking UK) to offer a great balance of activity and relaxation, and with two levels available it’s suitable for anyone completely new to Nordic Walking as well as those who already have the Nordic Walking UK Passport and would like to develop their skills.

We recently caught up with Caroline for an update on what she’s been up to: “I can’t believe that it is already the beginning of March. Only a couple of months until I’ll be packing my poles up ready to hit Ragdale Hall again to teach the award winning NWUK Learn to Nordic Walk course, and also the intermediate course which builds on what you might already know about Nordic Walking. This year I’ve added a few extras too, like Nordic mindfulness and Nordic circuits!

“It has been a busy year for me on my home turf of Saddleworth. The interest in Nordic Walking is growing and growing…. fuelled by media interest (maybe you saw my colleague, Ian Northcott, on The One Show recently?) and by word-of-mouth as friends pass on their love of it to their friends, partner-to-partner and even parents-to-children!

“The sustainability of Nordic Walking is what appeals to most – it’s not just for New Year, but for life…to paraphrase the puppy saying! So why not come along and learn how to do something that will literally change your life, at one of the most luxurious venues possible?!”

On the Ragdale Hall Nordic Walking break we’ve included two 25-minute spa treatments to complement your exercise – and you can explore our brand new Rooftop Infinity PoolThermal Spa and pools throughout your stay, so we’re confident you’ll completely relax (and did we mention breakfast in bed too?)

Spaces are limited so if you have any queries about the break please call us on 01664 433000 or comment below with any questions, and we will get back to you. We hope to see you soon!
