Rooftop Pool

NEW! for December 2017!

The much-anticipated new addition to Ragdale Hall Spa's extensive spa facilities, the Rooftop Infinity Pool, opened on Wednesday 20th December 2017.

The Pool is Ragdale's sixth pool, and offers guests an open air, heated rooftop pool experience, complete with breath-taking views over the grounds and rolling Leicestershire countryside in the distance.

The 12m x 3.5m stainless steel pool features reclining underwater massage jet seating, coloured underwater lighting, an infinity edge, and is heated to 35 degrees. Clever use of external materials reflect the sky and envelop the new structure.

Leading up to the Rooftop Pool and Lounge areas is an airy staircase drenched in natural light and featuring a 4m x 9.5m glass art installation. The stunning flowing coloured glass piece has been designed and made exclusively.

Another dramatic feature maximising the spacious stairwell is a bespoke lighting installation called Leaf. With a 7 metre drop and width of 1.4 metres, the cascade of matt gold aluminium discs appears to tumble from above, reminiscent of the dappled light of the sun filtered through the canopy of a tree. Below the Leaf pendant, a pretty, tiled bubble pool creates the effect of a babbling brook, incorporating the calming theme of nature harmoniously amongst the high-tech facilities.

The multimillion-pound development enhances Ragdale Hall's award-winning spa facilities which include the Thermal Spa and indoor and outdoor pools, making them the most extensive in the UK.

Rooftop Lounge

The Rooftop Pool is complemented by a slightly elevated Rooftop Lounge which offers views of the pool and the countryside beyond through the 2.5 metre high windows. It features an eclectic mix of seating with beautiful fabrics, including cocoon and hanging chairs sit side by side, indicative of Ragdale Hall's unique ability to blend luxury and heritage to create a welcoming environment. A full-length feature wall with veneer frame and upholstered fabric panels in soothing colours completes the calming Lounge space.

Thermal Spa

Many of the experiences within the Thermal Spa have been exclusively designed for Ragdale Hall - the like of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. It features 12 luxurious and unique heat and water experiences. Natural materials including rocks, stone and lush planting abound Thermal Spa Entrance – enter the area from the Main Swimming Pool.

Ragdale's luxurious Thermal Spa is the most contemporary and pampering experience in the UK.

Use the area as you wish and in whatever order you like but don't miss the Wishing Stream - caress an age-old pebble before throwing it into the stream that runs through the centre of the spa to rid yourself of negative energy before starting your journey around the spa.

The Thermal Spa is like an indoor playground for adults so relax, have fun and really enjoy this unique experience!

Thermal Spa comprises:

Candle Pool - entrancing, mosaic cavern with lapping water lit by the flicker of candles and a star-lit ceiling - imagine a candlelit bathtime treat at home but with water heated to a constant 34ºc, a truly magical haven - we believe this facility is unique in the world.

Indoor/Outdoor Waterfall Pool - come rain or shine, bathe outside in the numerous bays and inlets carved into the pool's structure that allow privacy while enjoying the massage jets and stunning waterfall. In winter, steam and mist will rise from the pool creating the feeling of bathing in a hidden lagoon.

Thought Zone - a dry heat and warm, ergonomic seating coupled with ever-changing music, images and colours is designed to inspire positive thinking and inspirational thoughts.

Colourflow Cave - filled with a humid and heady mix of jasmine and camomile, a river of colour flows to a central crystal mountain to provide a hedonistic detox.

Volcanic Salt Bath - an intense and 100% humid experience within a velvet darkness of hewn basalt and slate. A eucalyptus spritz helps to improve breathing.

Scented Room - natural materials, fresh aromatic herbs and a gentle hue of colours help to invigorate senses.

Rose Sauna - images and scents of roses imbue this Scandinavian sauna with a fresh twist. A window onto the waterfall pool makes it truly a 'room with a view'.

Cave Shower - a cave lit by stars recreates the sensation of being caught in a thunder storm in paradise – you'll even experience the thunder and lightning!

Experience Showers - bathe in a warm tropical shower or a cool mist.

 Main Pool area comprises:

  • 25-metre and 12-metre lengths for serious swimming
  • Water cascade
  • Massage jets for the feet, lower back and shoulders
  • Spacious mixed sanarium (combined sauna with soft herbal bath)

Exercise Pool area comprises:

Newly renovated in line with the Rooftop Pool and Lounge opening (December 2017) the original Exercise Pool area has been completely transformed and now features bespoke LED mood lighting, designed in part by the team behind the light show at the Rio Olympics' opening ceremony.

The adjustable lighting brings the sense of an awakening sunrise and relaxing sunset during non-class times of the day, however during Ragdale's ever-popular aquacise sessions each ring pulses individually, enabling it to be choreographed with the music, promising to bring even more energy and excitement to the classes.

The fitness team have designed several new sessions to coincide with the opening and, with the popular underwater fixed aqua-gym equipment reinstalled, Ragdale Hall's Exercise Pool area is unique in the UK.
