Warm Up Your Winter with our Mulled Wine Recipes

With the festive season upon us, we wanted to share a time-honoured Ragdale recipe that promises to delight your senses and add an extra layer of warmth to your winter gatherings – the classic, Mulled Wine.

Serves 6

Ingredients

Red wine 750ml bottle

1 orange, cut into slices – place some aside to garnish

3 cinnamon sticks – place some aside to garnish

6 cloves, whole

80g honey

100ml brandy

 

Method

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and place over a medium heat. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat slightly. Simmer gently over a low heat for 10 minutes.

Taste as you go, adding more honey or spices if needed.

Serve warm and garnish with orange slices and cinnamon sticks.

 

Mulled fruit punch

 If you’re the designated driver, or just opting for the healthier option, we also have a non-alcoholic version just for you!

 

Serves 10

Ingredients

750ml red grape juice

750ml orange juice

500ml cranberry juice

2 large oranges, cut into slices – place some aside to garnish

3 cinnamon sticks

6 cloves

80g honey

 

Method

Pour the fruit juices into a large pan and combine with the sliced oranges, cinnamon sticks and cloves and place over a medium heat. Stir gently and bring to a simmer, then reduce to a low-medium heat. Then, stir in the honey until it’s fully mixed. Serve the mulled punch warm and garnish with the leftover orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
