A few simple tips from Ragdale Hall you can follow to ensure you stay in shape all year roundNew research suggests that embracing exercise as you head into your 60s deflects the risk of major health issues and dementia.

Conducted by the British Journal of Sports Medicine, the study found those who took up exercise at or around retirement age were three times more likely to stay healthy over a period of eight years than their inactive peers.

The group studied was predominantly made up of people who exercised regularly, along with relative newcomers to exercise.

After eight years, according to the research, a fifth of the participants were defined as healthy and were not suffering from major chronic mental or physical illness.
