1. Fat Needn't Be Avoided

2. Frozen Veg Is Just As Good As Fresh

It can be expensive shelling out for fresh vegetables every couple of days, so you'll be happy to hear that frozen vegetables offer just as much mineral value, helping you to get your 5-a-day and keep on top of your health.

3. A Cooked Breakfast Can Be a Healthy Kickstart

While we don't recommend you deep fry your morning cereal, a cooked breakfast can be a relatively healthy way to start the day. However, it's much better to put your food under the grill rather than oiling up the trusty frying pan.

4. Red Meat Is Good for You

Since red meat is a great source of protein, vitamin B12, zinc and iron, it's hard to believe it could be bad for you. However, research HAS linked red meat to an increased risk of life threatening illnesses. Take the Department of Health's Advice, though, and only consume up to 500g per week.

5. Superfoods Aren't All That Super

Despite sounding like something superheroes knock back in between crime fighting, there's very little evidence to back up the assertion that superfoods like broccoli or blueberries are better for you than other types of fruit and vegetables – but it remains crucial to get your 5-a-day, whatever your preference.
