Spring 2012 Fashion Trends
Dance into spring!
Spring fashion this year is oh-so wearable – from statement making prints to cool new colour combos, there are loads of new outfit ideas for the warm- weather season ahead.
Don’t discard your floral fantasies just yet, this season the trend continues with a high dose of flower power plus an equally amped up version of colour blocking.
If you thought getting into a pair of bright jeans was best left to the new kids on the block, think again.
This spring/summer, neon jeans are set to take over.
Solid pieces like a cardi or vest top are very wearable but stick to three colours max to avoid the girly rainbow look.
Animal print is scattered across flowing gowns and cocktail numbers. Khaki and crisp whites are still holding appeal.
Also mix ethnic prints, raffia work, tribal sketches and intricate bead work. Accessorise with beading, pile on bangles and cuffs to glam up the effect.
Bold prints work best when sitting alongside block colours.
The Pastels Palette
Sugared-almonds colours, feminine silhouettes and lashings of lace bring a light girlishness to spring.
Lemon yellow and powder blue are modern wearable pastel tones; contrast them with cool metallic accessories.
Get to grips with the new season’s ‘in’ accessory – top handle bags, great for both day and night.
Clutch control; keep your essentials close to hand with a big oversize wallet.
Watch out for the textures of Africa with raffia and leather weaves and beading splashed all over for an eye catching effect.
