How to prep your skin for winter
The cold harsh weather is here which can have a tough impact on how our skin looks and feels.
From chapped lips to tight skin, here’s our top tips and product recommendations on how to keep your skin happy during the cold snap.
Exfoliate regularly
We often forget to help our skin remove its dead cells in the winter. These can build up over time which can stop moisture from getting in. Make this your first step before moisturising and you will notice your skin is super smooth and nourished.

Nourish your body
In the winter, it’s best to switch up your body lotions to body creams as these are much more rich and nourishing. Best time to moisturise your body is straight after the bath or shower to really lock in that moisture.
We recommend: ELEMIS Skin Nourishing Body Cream, £32
Take care of your hands
Hands are at high risk for becoming chapped and sore in the winter months as the skin on our hands is thinner compared to other areas of our body.
A bonus tip to really keep your hands soft and smooth is apply a rich layer of hand cream and wearing cotton gloves while you sleep.
We recommend: Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream, £23
Use a face mask
When temperatures drop, humidity does too, meaning skin loses moisture, becoming irritated and dehydrated. A face mask is a great way to moisturise your skin, quickly. Some masks can be slept in overnight such as this Decleor Oil Mask for ultimate boost of hydration.
We recommend: Decleor Neroli Bigarade Oil Mask, £33
