A week spent relaxing in the Mediterranean sun might not be on the cards this year (and maybe even into next year), but we do understand that after spending much of the year at home, many are craving a change of scenery and an escape from normality.

As the UK’s leading spa resort, Ragdale is renowned for its extensive facilities – this coupled with our leafy countryside location, outdoor activities and wide-open green spaces is what makes us the perfect fresh-air spa break.

We’re now just a few short months into our reopening, and while opening a site as large as Ragdale is no mean feat (you can say that again!), as a team we’ve come together to ensure we’re still able to deliver the same first class service (with the cosy Ragdale charm you know and love, of course) in a safe and secure environment. We’ve been simply overwhelmed with the positive feedback from our guests – Alibonney on Tripadvisor recently wrote:

“Just re-visited Ragdale Hall since the lockdown and was not disappointed at a all. Was a bit apprehensive since Covid, but there was nothing to be concerned about. The staff have everything sorted and my trip with my daughter was amazing from start to finish. Our welcome was just as good if not better with the staff explaining all the new procedures to follow. All of our treatments were first class. Marie and Aimee were both fantastic and thoroughly made me feel at ease with each of my treatments. Food was first class and the lunch being waiter service was excellent. Do not be put off from visiting as Ragdale Hall has remained excellent and offer first class service. Cannot wait to return.” September 2020

Why Ragdale?

Set in 13-acres of a serene, rural Victorian country house estate, there’s space to roam in robes in the afternoon sun and enjoy our beautiful gardens, and plenty of comfy seating options nestled in the grounds so you can snooze in the shade, or enjoy a glass of fizz and a catch up with a friend or loved one. There’s still time to steal the last of the summer rays and enjoy some amazing savings on our extended summer offers – Click here.

Of our six pools three are outdoor, so you can get a healthy dose of vitamin d and choose to soak up the panoramic views from the infinity edge of our Rooftop Pool, let your stress melt away with a soothing waterfall shoulder massage in our Waterfall Pool (In winter, steam and mist will rise from the pool creating the feeling of bathing in a hidden lagoon). or enjoy a refreshing swim in the Outdoor Pool (open in the summer months) – or all three! Our main Outdoor Pool at the front of the Hall also offers plenty of loungers, so you can switch off from the world around you.

But of course, you’ll still want to take a dip in our other three pools. Our Candle Pool is an entrancing, mosaic cavern lit by the flicker of candles and a star-lit ceiling – imagine a candlelit bathtime treat but with water heated to a constant 34°C; a truly magical haven – we believe this facility is unique in the world, and not to be missed!

For the more serious swimmer, make a splash and have fun or tot up the lengths in Ragdale’s stunning 25 metre pool. There’s also a soothing water cascade, massage jets for the feet, lower back and shoulders and Whirlpool to rest aching muscles. Guests can also get active in the Exercise Pool, and let the fun you’ll have bring out the water baby in you! Newly renovated in line with the Rooftop Pool and Lounge opening, the Exercise Pool area has been completely transformed and features bespoke LED mood lighting, designed in part by the team behind the light show at the Rio Olympics’ opening ceremony. The adjustable lighting brings the sense of an awakening sunrise and relaxing sunset during non-class times of the day, however during Ragdale’s ever-popular aquacise sessions each ring pulses individually, enabling it to be choreographed with the music, promising to bring even more energy and excitement to the classes.

The fitness team have designed several innovative sessions and with the popular underwater fixed aqua-gym equipment, Ragdale Hall’s Exercise Pool area is unique in the UK.  For our timetable of fitness classes, see our fitness timetable on our What’s on Guide.

If you like to balance an indulgent break away with keeping active, take a bicycle (we provide helmets too) and enjoy some fresh air and scenic views cycling along the surrounding quiet country lanes, or head out on foot and explore one of the many walking routes in the area.

We also have tennis courts (equipment included), have added some new outdoor fitness classes to our timetable and also offer daily countryside walks.

Our friendly team of staff will be on-hand to ensure you have a pleasant and restful stay, so when you’re ready to come and visit, we’ll be ready to welcome you.
