Make It Happen returns for 2020 with another £10,000

We’re delighted to announce that Make It Happen is returning! For 15 years, we’ve joined forces with The Melton Times to give local good causes the chance to apply for slice of £10,000 through the Make It Happen scheme.

Community and voluntary groups, charities, sports clubs and other worthy causes can now apply for cash funding, with grants ranging from around £200 up to £1,000 available to enable events to take place in and around the borough, and to help with communal projects.

As a business we are proud to be part of the local community with many of our guests and suppliers and most of our 500 plus employees coming from the local area. Make It Happen gives us a chance to give something back to the community and an even wider group of people and organisations. When this year’s awards are completed, we will have been able to give over £150,000 to a huge variety of deserving schemes.

It is always quite humbling to find out about the amazing work going on in our area and one of the great features of the scheme is the opportunity it gives to the organisations applying to publicise the good work they do. Please do take the opportunity to apply, it might be your year!

Melton Times editor, Mark Edwards, said: “We always get an incredible response to Make It Happen and we are very proud of the way we have been able to work with Ragdale Hall to help so many community groups and causes over the years.

“Our partners have been incredibly generous since 2005 and we know from the feedback we receive how important these grants are to people who live in the Melton borough.

“I would urge groups and individuals to make an application because we want as many people as possible to benefit from this year’s fund.”

To apply for a share of the 2020 Make It Happen cash fund, you can email nick.rennie@jpress.co.uk giving your name, address and contact telephone number plus the full name of the charity, group or sports club you are nominating and a brief description of what they do and how a grant from Make It Happen would benefit them.
