Lynne-Marie Gallagher celebrates 25-years’ service at Ragdale Hall Spa

The team at Ragdale Hall Spa celebrated a very special work anniversary for Training and Development Supervisor, Lynne-Marie Gallagher, who recently reached the landmark of 25-years as a member of the Ragdale Hall team.

Before joining Ragdale Hall Spa, Lynne-Marie worked in Harrogate as a Beauty Therapist in a very popular salon when she first left college. Whilst she was at college, she did waitressing and retail work.

At Ragdale Lynne-Marie has worn many hats over the years and has been a Beauty Therapist, Senior Beauty Therapist (Clarins senior), Scheduling co-ordinator (Treatments Administration), Beauty Reception Supervisor, Beauty Supervisor (also Induction and work experience co-ordinator), Training and Development Supervisor and College presenter.

Lynne-Marie comments: “I was originally offered the responsibility of organising the training for the Beauty Therapists – this appealed to me as I like working with new therapists to help them achieve their career goals and working on their professional development. I was then given the responsibility of setting up some new spa courses for the treatments department, which meant advertising for these positions and finding the right candidates who we could employ once trained. After I was appointed the role of part-time college presenter, I took over full responsibility of colleges and the management of our presentations. This is where my role in recruitment truly began!”

We asked Lynne-Marie about her most memorable moments at Ragdale: “I was lucky to be here when Gary and Michael bought the business and got to know them by doing their first treatments but also helping with the staff accommodation side of things as a senior therapist. I have been to many memorable staff parties and lived in staff accommodation for over three years, so I have plenty of stories to tell about my time there! Just watching Ragdale grow into the amazing place it is today has been very memorable as I’ve witnessed so many new areas being built and wowing our guests every time.”

“I enjoy watching therapists grow. From bringing them on board from college, through to helping them succeed in their chosen career. I like helping them find new opportunities for career development and helped introduce our Advanced Training Diploma. Many therapists I’ve known have gone on to have an amazing careers at home and abroad. I am very passionate about my relationship with colleges, making sure that students know who we are and what we can offer them in their future. I also enjoy educating lecturers who maybe did not know that a place like Ragdale existed!”

Lynne-Marie’s time at Ragdale hasn’t been without its challenges though, she comments, “as a supervisor on shift, I enjoyed the challenge of what each day would bring and can’t imagine myself in another job. My challenges now are different, but every day brings something new.”

“I love the people at Ragdale – they are a wonderful professional team who are all as passionate as each other about the place we are lucky enough to work in. As colleagues they are extremely supportive of one another. I am proud to work in such an amazing environment, it’s very picturesque with impeccable standards which our guests love.”

“I live very local to Ragdale – it’s about ten minutes door to door! I have three kids and have been a single mum for thirteen years, so they have taken up most of my time outside of work. I managed to do a charity bike ride in Cuba back in 2009 and thanks to the support from Ragdale’s staff I managed to raise nearly £4000 for a children’s charity! I now live with my fiancé and our newest hobby is holidaying our caravan!”

Congratulations Lynne-Marie, from all of your colleagues, friends and guests at Ragdale!
