  • A wheelchair is available for emergency use only. If you require use of a wheelchair to move around the Hall, we ask that you bring your own or hire one locally.
  • Ramps to avoid having to tackle steps. NB please be aware due to the nature of the older part of the building, one ramp is steep and guests may require assistance with this.
  • Flat level, double door access to Spa, Treatments and all Fitness areas
  • Lift to the majority of bedrooms. Please note, we have no ground floor bedrooms. Some bedrooms do not have lift access, and a few also have a step or stairs within the room. If you are unable to manage stairs, please ensure you speak to our Reservations team on booking.
  • Wide staircases and corridors in most parts of the building with handrails where appropriate
  • Firm external pathways, no gravel

  • Our Adapted bedroom features a wet room style shower. The bathroom is equipped with grab rails, a shower seat, and other adaptations to ensure your comfort and ease of access. One or both beds can be lowered on request to standard wheelchair height for ease of transfer.
  • A second “accessible friendly” room is available, incorporating modifications, including a walk- in shower (NB -there is a low step to enter) and grab rails for use within the bath, and next to the toilet
  • Both bedrooms are suitable for wheelchair use including a large turning circle in the bedroom.
  • Both bedrooms are adjacent to the lift, and close to an emergency refuge on the staircase.
  • Both bedrooms are fitted with emergency pull cord alarms within the bedroom and bathroom
  • Specific fire procedures for guests with disabilities, including use of an evac-chair if required.
  • Mobility aids are available on request. These include bath board, bath seat, bath step, raised toilet seat and portable grab rail
  • Breakfast delivered to your room every morning or served in the Verandah Bar

  • Our gardens, Guest Smokers Gazebo and terraces are accessible and can be enjoyed by all guests.
  • The Outdoor Pool terrace is accessible with seating, however access to the changing rooms is via steps and by vertical steps into the pool

  • We will read menus at mealtimes and assist in collecting items from the buffet at lunchtime if required
  • Many of our treatments can be adapted to the individual
  • Treatment room available with adapted showering facilities
  • Specifically prescribed exercise advice can be obtained from our fitness instructors

  • “Deafguard” vibrating pad is available on request. Placed under your pillow, this will alert hearing impaired guests of a fire alarm
  • We will read menus at mealtimes and assist in collecting items from the buffet at lunchtime if required.
  • Large print menus can be arranged on request.
  • Key staff working in areas serving guests as well as the Duty Manager and overnight team will be made aware of all guests with visual or hearing impairment, and will do their utmost to assist you.
  • For guests with a hearing impairment, our staff will ensure communication with you both pre-arrival and during your visit is by e-mail or written message.
  • Visually impaired guests may bring a Guide Dog to the Hall. This must be arranged with our
  • Reservations team on booking, and further information relating to Guide dogs at the Hall will be issued on request.

  • Further information is available for guests with learning disabilities. Please contact our reservations team directly for information and to discuss your individual needs.

  • Guests wishing to bring a medical assistance dog to the Hall should contact our Reservations team before making a booking to discuss your individual needs.

Please note, however, we are unable to provide one-to-one mobility assistance within bedrooms, treatment rooms and swimming pools or generally around the Hall so we advise you to consider being accompanied by someone who can help you to make the best use of our facilities, in addition to enjoying using them.

Finally, we are conscious that because of its age and size the building is not the most accessible-friendly, thus we encourage you to contact us if you have any specific requirements to allow us to offer help and advice for you to plan your visit.
