Celebrating Carol – 50 Years of Dedication at Ragdale Hall Spa
At Ragdale Hall Spa, we believe our people are at the heart of everything we do and this month, we’re celebrating someone truly extraordinary. Carol, our longest-serving team member, has reached an incredible milestone – 50 years of service.
Carol joined Ragdale Hall Spa back in 1975, and for five decades she’s been a powerhouse behind the scenes, to help shape every guest experience. All of her 50 years has been spent in our Housekeeping Department, particularly in the Laundry, where her care and attention to detail have made a lasting impact. 
Asking Carol about what is her proudest moment at the Hall so far, “Reaching my 20 years service, it was my first ‘big’ milestone that I had reached. It felt really special.”
To mark this golden anniversary, our team surprised Carol with a celebration filled with flowers, cake, and admiration. She was presented with commemorative gifts, including a one-of-a-kind golden embroidered Ragdale Hall robe.
Managing Director Hugh Wilson shared: “Carol is a truly loyal and highly valued member of the team, and she holds a unique and very special accolade in completing her 50 years’ service. Her sense of fun brings enjoyment to those who work with her and her dedication to Ragdale is quite exceptional. We are very privileged to celebrate this milestone with her.”
When asked about looking back over her 50 years at Ragdale Hall Spa, Carol said, “The Hall has changed a lot, more staff, more facilities but the people have always been friendly. I never dread coming to work, I enjoy it. I love being with people.” Carol has no plans to retire anytime soon saying that “although the job is physical, it keeps me fit.”
Thought to have trained over 150 people over the years, Carol says ‘it’s important to have drive and passion when working in the hospitality industry. Teamwork is key.”
So here’s to Carol and to the thousands of towels she’s folded with love over the past 50 years. We’re truly honoured to have her as part of the Ragdale family.

What a truly remarkable milestone – many congratulations. My sister and I always have a chat about ‘behind the scenes’ at Ragdale when we visit – so nice to read about someone who has made it tick for all these years.
What an achievement , I have been coming to Ragdale for 44 years and I have always noticed that the bed linen , the robes , towels and table linen are always spotless . Congratulations and long may she reign and enjoy her job.

I worked at Ragdale in the early 90,s in the fitness department. Carol was a member of staff then. She was always really happy and great with both staff and visitors. Congratulations Carol reaching your 50th Year. Always a great place to visit and a great place to work

I feel it’s so important to enjoy your work and that you felt a valued member of the team.Like you l have seen the transformation of the Hall through the decades. My friends and l have been regular yearly guests at the hall,some times visiting twice a year.The Hall is our “place to escape to ,for refreshing the body and mind “
Congratulations I’ve been cmig since 1977 so I’ve seen changes too. Staff must be treated well if they stay that long. Will be back Monday!
