December 2017 saw the opening of the Rooftop Infinity Pool and Lounge. The multimillion-pound development enhances our award-winning spa facilities making them the most extensive in the UK.

The addition gives our guests a total of six pools to enjoy as well as many other heat and water experiences – read on to find out more!


Rooftop Pool

Breath-taking views and blissful memories… Make your way up to Ragdale’s newest area and you won’t be disappointed – glistening in the open air – this rooftop experience is totally unique and you’ll remember it forever.

With water heated to 35°C,  relax on a recliner while being gently massaged by the jets or just take time at the infinity edge to admire the grounds and countryside views.

Rooftop Lounge

A space for quiet contemplation whilst soaking up an elevated view of the pool and valley below.

Featuring an eclectic mix of seating with beautiful fabrics, including cocoon and hanging chairs blending luxury and heritage to create a welcoming environment.

A full-length feature wall with veneer frame and upholstered fabric panels in soothing colours completes the calming space.

Thermal Spa

Feel the heat! Feel warm to your core as you indulge in the sensory experiences of this innovative and exciting thermal paradise.

Many of the experiences within the Thermal Spa have been exclusively designed for Ragdale Hall – the like of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. It features 12 luxurious and unique heat and water experiences. Natural materials including rocks, stone and lush planting abound Thermal Spa Entrance – enter the area from the Main Pool.

Ragdale’s luxurious Thermal Spa is the most contemporary and pampering experience in the UK.

Use the area as you wish and in whatever order you like but don’t miss the Wishing Stream – caress an age-old pebble before throwing it into the stream that runs through the centre of the spa to rid yourself of negative energy before starting your journey around the spa.

The Thermal Spa is like an indoor playground for adults so relax, have fun and really enjoy this unique experience!

 

Thermal Spa comprises:

Candle Pool – an entrancing, mosaic cavern lit by the flicker of candles and a star-lit ceiling – imagine a candlelit bathtime treat but with water heated to a constant 34°C; a truly magical haven – we believe this facility is unique in the world.

Indoor/Outdoor Waterfall Pool – come rain or shine, bathe outside in the numerous bays and inlets carved into the pool’s structure that allow privacy while enjoying the massage jets and stunning waterfall. In winter, steam and mist will rise from the pool creating the feeling of bathing in a hidden lagoon.

Thought Zone – a dry heat and warm, ergonomic seating coupled with ever-changing music, images and colours is designed to inspire positive thinking and inspirational thoughts.

Colourflow Cave – filled with a humid and heady mix of jasmine, lavender and camomile, a river of colour flows to a central crystal mountain to provide a hedonistic detox.

Volcanic Salt Bath – an intense and 100% humid experience within a velvet darkness of hewn basalt and slate. A eucalyptus spritz helps to improve breathing.

Scented Room – natural materials, fresh aromatic herbs and a gentle hue of colours help to invigorate senses.

Rose Sauna – images and scents of roses imbue this Scandinavian sauna with a fresh twist. A window onto the waterfall pool makes it truly a ‘room with a view’.

Cave Shower – a cave lit by stars recreates the sensation of being caught in a thunder storm in paradise – you’ll even experience the thunder and lightning!

Main Pool

Refresh yourself! Make a splash and have fun in Ragdale’s stunning 25 metre pool.  Area comprises:

  • 25-metre and 12-metre lengths for serious swimming
  • Water cascade
  • Massage jets for the feet, lower back and shoulders
  • Jaccuzi
  • Spacious mixed sanarium (combined sauna with soft herbal bath)

Exercise Pool

Get active in the exercise pool – the fun you’ll have will bring out the water baby in you.

Newly renovated in line with the Rooftop Pool and Lounge opening Exercise Pool area has been completely transformed and now features bespoke LED mood lighting, designed in part by the team behind the light show at the Rio Olympics’ opening ceremony.

The adjustable lighting brings the sense of an awakening sunrise and relaxing sunset during non-class times of the day, however during Ragdale’s ever-popular aquacise sessions each ring pulses individually, enabling it to be choreographed with the music, promising to bring even more energy and excitement to the classes.

The fitness team have designed several innovative sessions and with the popular underwater fixed aqua-gym equipment, Ragdale Hall’s Exercise Pool area is unique in the UK.  Find out more about aqua exercise classes on our blog.

Changing Areas

All our changing areas are beautifully and uniquely designed.  The Blue Changing Room has disabled friendly changing area and showers.
