Scarlett – Senior Beauty Therapist

Tell us about your journey at Ragdale

As soon as I completed my Beauty Therapy Level 3 at college I was offered a position as a beauty therapist at Ragdale Hall.  I soon discovered my favourite brands which led me into choosing what I wanted to specialise in.  I am already trained in Spa Find face and body treatments and Indian head massage and I have my Clarins training next week.  I feel excited about the opportunities that lie ahead working with these amazing brands as I know this will make much more knowledgeable therapist.

What your average day is like?

I collect my treatment schedule from the supervisor’s office, check health questionnaires for my treatments for that day and prepare my treatment room ready to collect my first guest.  Most days I have a full day of treatments but there’s always chance to catch up with my colleagues at lunch time or for quick chat in the famous ‘towel cupboard’.

What do you love about working at Ragdale?

I chose to work at Ragdale after my mum took me here for my 16th birthday. As soon as I walked through the doors I was in awe of the place and knew instantly this was the place I wanted to work. After having my first ever treatment I knew this was the career path for me. I wanted to make people feel as special as I felt that day.  I remember travelling home feeling excited at the prospect of maybe working there one day. This motivated me even more to work harder at college so I could follow my dream…

What did you do before you worked here?

Before I worked at Ragdale Hall Spa I was a Saturday girl at my local hair and beauty salon. This gave me a taste of what the industry was like and how to interact with clients. I always enjoyed the atmosphere and working in a team.

Why did you choose to work at Ragdale Hall?

I love that every day is different.   You are doing a variety of treatments and also meeting different guests. I also love working in such a big team – you make friends for life and everyone is always there to help and support you. My confidence has grown so much since I started which has helped me grow as a person and a therapist. As a therapist my joy is to make people feel as relaxed as possible and it is rewarding seeing a guest so happy because of a treatment you have done.  Hard work never goes unnoticed and you’re always supported which is important in a job.
