Have you found that a treatment at Ragdale really helps the symptoms of a particular medical condition you may have? If you have, we’d love to hear about it and you may be in with the chance of winning a prize. We think it would really help others, if they knew about personal experiences of other guests.

A journalist from the Mail on Sunday, Katy Philpott, recently ‘challenged’ us to recommend a treatment to alleviate her rather serious Psoriasis condition. Kate said “at its worst my skin looks and feels as it it’s been scraped off and is red and painful. I try to manage it with vitamin D ointment and an occasional sunbed but have never had a major improvement.” We recommended SpaFind’s Luxury Mineral Mud Infusion (115 minutes £99). It includes a full body exfoliation, massage with hot oils and Dead Sea mineral mud and the being wrapped, to heat the body to allow the oils and minerals to penetrate deep into the skin. Kate’s verdict “on arrival I had a very bad flare up but immediately after the treatment, my skin had dramatically improved. Two weeks later it is still looking and feeling much better”.

If you would like more information regarding Psoriasis, read on….

Psoriasis occurs when the skin cells replace themselves too quickly. It usually takes up to 28 days for newly formed skin cells to rise to the surface of the skin and separate from healthy tissue, but in psoriasis it takes just two to six days.

Symptoms of psoriasis

Psoriasis usually appears as red, scaly, crusty patches that reveal fine silvery scales when scraped or scratched. These patches may itch and feel uncomfortable. Psoriasis is most common on the knees, elbows and scalp, but can appear anywhere on the body. In some forms the nails or joints are affected.

The condition is chronic, lasting for many years. Most people have periods when symptoms are minimal or the skin is normal but then it flares up again. The impact on a person varies – for some it is no more than a mild irritation while others with psoriasis become withdrawn and don’t socialise or form relationships because of the way people react to the appearance of their skin.

What Can We Do?

Almost every skin condition or complaint is partly caused by a mineral or vitamin imbalance within the body.

Skincare specialists say ‘you can trace every skin ailment to a mineral deficiency in the body’.

Dead Sea minerals offer psoriasis suffers a non-comedogenic, skin friendly formula, blending natural de-ionised water with pure dead sea mineral treatment.

Ragdale Hall’s favourite psoriasis friendly treatment is the Spa Find Mud Infusion. It is allergen-free fragrance, contains no parabens, genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or animal ingredients. The combination of minerals, such as magnesium, potassium, sodium, Calcium, Bromide, Sulphur and iodine replenish the body of these natural minerals.

The luxury infusion of minerals, mud, and oils are combined with specialised therapeutic massage for the body, face and scalp leaving you deeply rejuvenated and nourished. The invigorating cleansing ritual revitalises your entire body before a sensuous treatment ritual. Your body is cocooned In a warmed Dead Sea Mud, whilst relaxing, a hypnotic scalp massage is performed.
