christmas at Ragdale Hall

With the hectic rush of the festive season now over, eveyone’s looking forward to and focusing on 2017. But before we fling ourselves headlong into the new year, we thought it would be nice to take a few peaceful minutes of mindfulness and reflect on 2016.

It was another busy 12 months here at Ragdale Hall and we’ve seen several areas of the Hall and gardens extensively remodelled and refurbished, improving and increasing the facilities for our guests.

Verandah Bar

If you visited us last year we hope you’ve enjoyed the Verandah Bar, which reopened in March after being extended and redesigned – and now even includes a bright new alfresco dining area (and not forgetting the new kitchen to keep our Executive Head Chef, David, and his team happy!) The interior design introduces some beautiful new bespoke features, but is in keeping with the theme and ambience of the original Verandah Bar, as we know it’s a favourite area for many of our regular guests. The Greenhouse also received a major make-over with new furnishings and windows, and many guest rooms received similar treatment.

We launched a host of new treatments throughout the year and became the first spa to offer Clarins’ new Tri-Active Facial. The Ragdale Hall Evening Spa Experience made its debut in 2016, offering three hours of spa-ing and dining time, while the new Clarins Ultimate Pamper Break launched to offer guests three days of indulgence (we like to have something for everyone!) Ragdale Hall flip flops for guests on spa breaks and our Ultimate day also made their debut.

2016 also saw our collaboration with M&S go from strength to strength, as we saw two new spa-inspired product ranges hit the shelves in the summer.

The launch of the Ragdale Hall app was very exciting for us and seemingly for you too, as you’ve been downloading it in your thousands. We’ve already added more useful features, so not only is it great for helping you to access our latest news and offers, it will also help you plan for your visit (so no leaving those essential items at home) and count down to the big day!

With so many new things taking place, we were also able to find opportunities for reflection as many of our staff celebrated significant long-service milestones. One of our most familiar faces, Guest Liaison’s Alison Stonehouse, celebrated 20 years with us, while our Assistant Personnel Manager, Clair, reached her 25 years’ service. We’re sure the Hall looked very different when they first joined!

We’re also delighted to say it’s also been another very successful year, with accolades from the spa industry, press, media and consumers throughout the year.

Some highlights were: Best Spa in the UK, Best for Girlfriend Getaways and Best for Affordability/Budget by SpaFinder Wellness; Best Dedicated Spa by Candis magazine; Number One Rural Retreat by The Telegraph; Top Five Fitness Retreat by Women’s Health magazine. We are also delighted to have been awarded a Five Bubble spa rating by the Good Spa Guide once again, and recognised as ‘Excellent’ by Trip Advisor for our customer service.

If you’ve visited us during 2016 we’d like to thank you for choosing Ragdale Hall and we hope we’ll be welcoming you back this year (and rest assured we have a whole host of great things planned for 2017 too.)

Here’s to a happy and successful 2017 for everyone!
