If terms such as “the triad of change”, “the four seasons of wellbeing” and “the five energetic intelligences” make you think of a sci-fi movie, you’ve obviously not (yet…) stumbled across the new approach to health known as Reorganisational Healing.
According to its exponents, ROH is a “paradigm for the advancement of wellness, behavior change, holistic practice, and healing”. They claim that it is helping people to make healthier lifestyle choices, cultivate greater wellness and enjoy a higher quality of life.
In the words of Robert H.I. Blanks, PhD of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, ROH is “a health change model whose time has come”, and which helps people to re-design their health and life.
In reality, ROH is just one of many alternative approaches which are vying for the attentions of an increasingly wellness-aware general public, whose perception of the importance of good health (and their own role in maintaining their health) has changed dramatically over the last couple of years.
Of course, not everyone is quite ready to grapple with the mysteries of energetic intelligences. So, for those who prefer a less complex approach to achieving a healthy work-life balance, it’s fortunate that a relaxing, energy-restoring spa holiday is only a few mouse-clicks away.
There was a time when spa holidays were viewed by the majority of the UK populace with a healthy dose of cynicism – often being seen as the preserve either of the rich and famous or of cranks and health freaks.
Nowadays, nothing could be further from the truth.
