Yoga Retreat or Pilates Retreat which fitness break is for you?
Ragdale Hall Health Hydro & Thermal Spa, based in Leicestershire offers a number of fitness breaks throughout the year and coming over the next few months we have two dates for both our Pilates Retreat and Yoga Retreat. But which one is for you? Read on to find a little bit more about both forms of exercise and then you can decide.
If you are wanting to tone up in time for summer and to improve the appearance of your body, or if you’ve been suffering from back problems, then Pilates is the perfect exercise for you.
If deep relaxation and finding the connection between body and soul is what you are aiming to achieve, then Yoga is probably more your thing.
Pilates and Yoga are both great ways of strengthening your body and relieving stress and tension, hence why our Pilates Retreat and Yoga Retreats have proved popular in the past. Whether you’re a complete beginner or regularly practise, our experts will guide you through and help you adapt the best technique in your chosen subject.
Here’s what a couple of the guests who attended the first ever Pilates Retreat had to say:
“It was magnificent. It was my first trip to Ragdale and will not be my last. Cherry was absolutely brilliant. I do regular Pilates and understood the concept of all the instructions, but Cherry made it clear for all levels. If you are thinking of making it a regular occurrence, I would gladly attend.”
“The Pilates Retreat was very good. I enjoyed the Glider session best. Cherry was warm and friendly and I feel gave everyone equal attention.”
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps build flexibility and long, lean muscles, strength and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing to relieve stress and allow adequate oxygen flow to muscles, developing a strong core and improving coordination and balance. No muscle group is under or over trained. It enhances core strength and brings increased reach, flexibility, sure-footedness and agility.
Due to the success of the first Pilates Retreat we have two more dates planned – Thursday 18th to Saturday 20th April 2013 and Thursday 12th to Saturday 14th September 2013. Find out what is included and read a little more about our experienced leader Cherry Baker.
Our Yoga Retreat also continues to be very popular and we have booked two more dates in 2013.
Here’s what previous guests had to say about the Yoga Retreat:
“Kerry and Danny are warm, fun, helpful, welcoming and encouraging experts. They have renewed our interest in Yoga and have already booked to return for another session”
“Danny and Kerry are exceptional”
“We attended our first Yoga Retreat at Ragdale Hall and it enjoyed it so much that we have booked to join the next Yoga Retreat! As near beginners we found your approach very helpful, you made us feel welcome, you encouraged us, you offered expert hands on tuition, we had fun and you made us feel that this was something we could do that would make a difference to our lives. Since then we have tried to do some (little!) yoga every day and are actively trying to find a local class to keep our enthusiasm going. So thank you very much!”
“I came to the Yoga Retreat with Kerry and Danny and it was absolutely wonderful, I hope you continue to hold future Yoga retreats. It was lovely to practise yoga and then relax in the spa.”
What is Yoga?
The whole system of Yoga is built on three main structures: exercise, breathing, and meditation. The exercises of Yoga are designed to put pressure on the glandular systems of the body and so increasing its efficiency and total health. Regular daily practice of all three parts of this structure of Yoga produce a clear, bright mind and a strong, capable body.
Come and join our fantastic experts for either of these breaks and see what Pilates or Yoga can do for you!!
