Ragdale Hall’s mulled wine recipe

The familiar aroma of mulled wine can mean only one thing: Christmas is officially here.

Serves 6

Ingredients

Red wine (750ml bottle)

1 orange, cut into slices – (place some aside to garnish)

3 cinnamon sticks – (place some aside to garnish)

6 cloves, whole

80g honey

100ml brandy

Method

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and place over a medium heat. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat slightly. Simmer gently over a low heat for 10 minutes.

Taste as you go, adding more honey or spices if needed.

Serve warm and garnish with orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
