We’re well-known for our Thermal Spa and having the most comprehensive menu of spa treatments anywhere in the UK, but we’ve now also added some great new activities to our programme of exercise classes and fitness breaks for 2017 – and many that you can’t get anywhere else.
We’re really excited to be the first UK spa-based fitness team to offer the Brainfit Workout, which brings mindfulness to exercise. BrainFit’s Rachel Holmes even came to Ragdale Hall to personally train our team. Described as ‘meditation in motion’ this class combines mindful movement and breathing exercises with a guided meditation.
Adopting a mindful approach to group exercise, coupled with a guided meditation, is refreshing, revitalising and invigorating – and regular mindfulness practice, through simple repetitive movement, affirmations and meditation, can be an effective way to tackle stress and anxiety.
Other sessions new to the 2017 exercise programme include Roll & Release; embracing the growing focus on fascia – the connective tissue that surrounds the muscles and joins them together to work in harmony. Healthy functioning fascia is the key to pain-free motion so this session, using foam rollers and spiky balls to lead participants through a range of stretching and self-massage techniques, will open the door to a whole new freedom of movement.
The 90-60-30 high intensity interval training (HIIT) workout is proven to torch fat, fast – and this unique format combines bouts of cardio, chiselling and core exercises for a complete body makeover, while the Sassy Style dance-based fitness class is more than simply a fun workout, with subliminal empowerment techniques built into the teaching giving participants (that’s you, our guests) the self-confidence to proudly show off your best features or talents and to move in a way that attracts attention.
The man behind introducing the new sessions is our Fitness Consultant and award-winning trainer, Dean Hodgkin. He said: “We want to continually bring our guests innovative ways to exercise to help them find different ways to successfully achieve their wellness goals. Importantly, however, we appreciate our guests are all very different hence we have added several classes with completely different themes. And, because our exercise sessions are free to our guests, we hope they will be encouraged to give something new a try.”
Our range of two-night specialist fitness breaks has also been extended for 2017, with options now including yoga, pilates (beginner and experienced levels), Nordic Walking (beginner and experienced levels, with a Nordic Walking UK instructor), Zumba®, running for beginners and dance. You’ll be part of a small group, immersed in learning or developing your skills in these areas, while also enjoying all Ragdale Hall has to offer – and having fun.
We hope to see you soon!
