Despite starting her own business and raising four children, beauty therapist Katie Henfrey is celebrating still managing to find the time to clock up 20 years’ continuous service with us here at Ragdale Hall – although her association with us even goes back as far as 1990!

Katie first joined us from college as a newly-qualified therapist aged 20, moving away from her Nottinghamshire home for the first time and settling in to some of Ragdale Hall’s then staff accommodation (which was away from Ragdale and not in a secret part of the Hall, in case you were wondering!) She trained in all the skincare ranges we worked with over the years, and also learnt the ropes in other teams, including our Treatments and Activities Scheduling Department and the Beauty Shop.

After a short break to set up her own business, Katie returned in 1996 as a part-time therapist here with us, alongside her own work. But two years later she sold her business and had her first son – taking just 12 weeks maternity leave before returning to Ragdale!

Since then Katie hasn’t stopped; she’s had three more children, trained in holistic therapies including Reiki, Body Balancing, Hopi Ear Candling and Tranquility Massage, and also supported our Recruitment Team – helping to welcome our new beauty therapists who are leaving home or starting their first job in the industry with us, just as she did all those years ago.

Katie said: “I knew from the moment I stepped into the Hall’s stunning reception that I wanted to be a part of it. Ragdale Hall is a beautiful environment to work in, and it has such a family atmosphere to the team you don’t want to leave – it feels like so much more than a job.

“I’ve had some great training opportunities throughout my career here and I thoroughly enjoy every day I’m here, in fact, I still get that magical feeling I remember from the day of my interview back in 1990!”
