Guest Liaison Manager Jo Hallam receives long service award!
Before you read on, we want to clarify that when writing this blog, the numbers on our keyboard stopped working (*cough*) so sadly we can’t mention any milestones here, but who’s counting anyway?
Where Jo’s story began…
When dinosaurs roamed the planet…only joking, Jo!
…From the lush forests, towering mountains and vast lochs of Scotland, there one day came a phone call to our Beauty recruitment team from a somewhat innocent, and enthusiastic young lady.
We were to learn that our lovely Jo was looking to relocate to the midlands, and in her searching for job opportunities at a health spa, she came across Ragdale Hall.
It wasn’t long before the Beauty team succumbed to Jo’s charm, and on a cool, crisp autumnal day she was invited to join the Ragdale family as a Beauty Therapist.
Jo spent a number of years honing her skills as a beauty therapist, undertaking every training opportunity that came her way. Over time, Jo progressed to Beauty Supervisor and given her diligent and exemplary work ethic (she paid us to say that!), was soon invited to join the team of Duty Managers within the Hall.
It was during Jo’s role as Duty Manager that her natural affinity for being so wonderfully and effortlessly personable with our guests really shone (she didn’t pay us to say that), and so when an opportunity came around to help head up a brand-new guest-related department, Jo was first in line.
With so many returning guests, Ragdale introduced a Guest Liaison team to see to our guests’ every need, and welcome anyone returning with a huge smile and open arms.
With Jo (and her bubbly and vivacious personality) securely at the helm of our Guest Liaison department, she now leads a team of six plus our crew of Porters to help deliver an experience our guests will never forget. Jo is also a senior member of our Duty Management team, and responsible for maintaining high levels of customer service throughout the Hall.
We asked Jo to recall some of her most memorable moments at Ragdale…but unfortunately, not many were suitable for publishing on this blog(!).
On receiving her long service award, Jo said: “I’m so lucky because I get to come to work every day and have fun.
“Every day is different and brings something new, and I’ve developed so many wonderful friendships with colleagues and guests over the years.
“I’ve grown up at Ragdale (well, not really!), so it’s been lovely to follow guests on their journey and watch new generations join mum and grandma on their annual visit to Ragdale.
“What I love about Ragdale is that we’re a family. Whether you work at Ragdale or come as a guest, we’re a family that just keeps on growing – and there’s something really special about that.”
Jo lives close to Ragdale with her daughter, Charlotte.
Please join us in thanking Jo for @#!% years of long service – Ragdale Hall wouldn’t be the warm and inviting place it is without you, Jo, and we’re so thankful to have you as one of the key members of the Ragdale family.
