Cheers to 20 years, Kerry!
This month, our Bars Assistant, Kerry Wilson, celebrated her 20th work anniversary!
Kerry began her career at Ragdale Hall working in our Housekeeping department.
Kerry said: “I had two young boys at the time and wanted to find a job locally that fit around their school times, so went for a position at Ragdale Hall Spa for evening cleaning.
“I spent around five and a half years with Housekeeping, before I fancied a change and happened to see an opening in the Bars department – this suited me perfectly because I’d always wanted to work behind a bar.”
Kerry had been an integral member of the Bars team for the last 14.5 years.
“I absolutely love working with the Bars team at Ragdale – no two shifts are the same, and the role challenges you every day. Sometimes we can have up to 80 guests to serve during arrivals, and we always strive to ensure we cater for guests’ every single need. The one team rule we have, is: ‘never walk back with an empty tray!’.
“I love my job because of the team spirit we share – it can get busy for us at times, but we’re always happy to help one-another out and support where needed.
“My role in Bars has changed quite a bit over the years. As time has gone on, the coffee machines have become a little more challenging to learn how to operate! When I started, the drinks menu offering was much smaller. Now we serve a wide selection of teas, coffees, soft drinks and cocktails, not to mention the lovely cakes and snacks.
“We introduced cocktails to our offering in the last few years, and it’s been great learning all of the new techniques and having the opportunity to be creative and come up with our own cocktail recipes.
“Ragdale really is like a big family, and I’ve got to say I’ve enjoyed every one of my 20-years working here. I’ve met so many wonderful guests over the years, and some I see a couple of times a year, so I have their drink ready waiting for them!”
Congratulations Kerry, from all of your colleagues, friends and guests at Ragdale!
