Acupuncture

Conducted by Dr Heli Ots, your treatment will start with a consultation to check your general state of health. Fine needles are then inserted in 12 to 15 points around the body to stimulate or suppress the flow of ‘Chi’. Acupuncture aims to restore the balance of Chi energy – a state of equilibrium when Yin and Yang are in harmony. Most people find acupuncture a pleasant and deeply relaxing experience. There should be no pain during the insertion of the needles. When the needles are inserted you may feel a slight tingling sensation, this indicates that the treatment is beginning to have some effect.

Designed by a Holistic Therapist, this treatment commences with breathing exercises, foot massage and pressure points, light rhythmic massage movements to the shoulders, scalp, face and neck and concludes with gentle healing and cleansing of the aura. This wonderful treatment offers a great recharge for your whole system. This treatment is a very popular choice for those wishing to unwind from the tension held in the head and arms. Body Composition Test

The Body Composition Test is a simple test providing valuable information on your body’s make up. Body Composition is the amount of lean and fat weight that makes up your total body weight. Both lean and fat weights are measured in order to establish your ideal weight. The test will determine how many calories your body needs to lose, maintain or gain weight. Weight management is put into perspective, focusing on the health of the individual rather than society's expectations. This is a 25 minute treatment.

Chakra Silks

A new treatment, which combines the use of coloured silks and Reiki energy healing, to restore balance and bring deep harmony to the body.

To quieten the mind we begin with breathing exercises.

The therapist lays coloured silks on the Chakra points, and then places her hand on the silk, Reiki energy flows. The treatment commences at the head, gradually moving down to the feet.

This gentle, yet powerful treatment can help ease tensions, worries and anxieties. You leave the treatment feeling grounded, cleansed, rebalanced and relaxed.

This is a 40 minute treatment.

Chirotherapy

This treatment is a combination of three elements – massage, energy channelling and active and passive stretching. To rebalance energies, boost natural healing and ease muscle tension.

Hopi Ear Candles (Thermo Auricular Therapy)

A natural and relaxing therapy used traditionally by the Hopi Indians. This treatment is excellent for anyone who suffers with excess wax in the ears, sinusitis or general blocked sinuses. The ear candles are hollow and when lit gently palpate the ear drum. The treatment is completely painless and under the skilled practitioners hands, actually very relaxing. This therapy is also helpful in treating headaches, migraines, head colds, catarrh, glue ear and hay fever. This is a 50 minute treatment.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is used to achieve a state of altered awareness. You are fully aware of what is taking place but are able to concentrate more effectively and deeply on the problem without fear or anxiety. Hypnotherapy is effective because at the point of deep relaxation, the client is more ready to accept the beneficial statements and suggestions made by the therapist. La Stone Therapy

La Stone Therapy combines water heated basalt lava stones, marble cold stones and traditional massage techniques. The stones are placed on key points of the body to give a deep massage and create sensations of comfort and warmth. The use of hot and cold stones is the most effective state of the art massage technique. This is an 85 minute treatment.

During your personal consultation you will be able to discuss the aspects that really affect your life with practical advice to assist in helping you to cope and alleviate the symptoms you are experiencing. Cholesterol and Body Composition Tests are carried out along with the opportunity to discuss topics associated with the menopause such as diet and osteoporosis. MOT Massage

This customised, full body oil massage uses many different approached from around the world, combined witht eh skill and knowlege of Ragdale's own Massage Specialist, Danny Allman.  Deep tissue and remedial massage techniques are used along with various muscular release movements to loosen all muscles, increase joint mobility and fight postural aches and pains.  Stretches are applied whilst another part of the body is massaged; this enables a long deep stretch to be held when it may otherwise be uncomfortable.  This therapy delivers a firm, flowing and rhythmical massage great for pure therapeutic relaxation, whilst actively working with your body to release localised and specific problem areas.  It is very different to traditional sports or remedial therapy as it treats the full body and the localised challenges as one.

Naturopathic Consultation

Naturopathy is a method of curing disease by releasing inner vitality and allowing the body to heal itself. By asking detailed questions about the patient’s lifestyle and medical history, the naturopath aims to treat the causes of illness, not just the symptoms.

The patient’s health is assessed with a wide range of tailor-made tests to build up a complete picture of the condition of the mind and body.

This method involves the use of natural approaches, such as vitamin-mineral therapy, Bach flower therapy, diet advice, homeopathy and herbal medicine according to certain established principles. For example, herbs may be used to stimulate the body into action – elimination of toxins or aid in nutrition. Homeopathy may be used to stimulate the work of the specific organ or organ systems. Vitamins and minerals are prescribed to combat specific deficiencies.

We really are what we eat and drink what we feel and think, therefore, a good health can only be maintained by the clever co-ordination of our mind and body. This is a 50 minute treatment.

Reflexology

A method of alternative therapy using compression to reflex areas found mainly in the feet. The feet are like a map of the body - by massaging these, the whole body is being treated, releasing tension and improving circulation, thus bringing about the body’s own natural balance. An interesting and popular treatment. This is a 70 minute treatment.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word representing Universal Life Energy (Rei = universal, Ki = life force energy which flows through all living beings). It opens the mind to the causes of disease and pain and reinforces the body’s ability to heal itself. It supports and enhances all medical or complementary treatments. A Reiki treatment is a hands-on treatment; the person receiving Reiki lies fully clothed while the practitioner’s hands rest gently over various areas of the body for a few minutes at a time in each position. It is a safe and re-assuring treatment - stress is released and there is a feeling of deep relaxation. This is a 55 minute treatment.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a traditional hands–on Japanese healing therapy. It can help in a wide range of conditions – from specific injuries to more general symptoms of poor health. The philosophy underlying Shiatsu is that vital energy (known as KI in Japanese) flows throughout the body in a series of channels called meridians. For many different reasons KI can stop flowing freely and this then produces a symptom.

Jon Jarvis our highly experienced Shiatsu Practitioner will consider your state of health, the symptoms you are experiencing and, depending on your constitution and general energy levels, will use a variety of techniques to improve your energy flow. Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing experience and would be recommended as a one off to relieve a symptom or more regularly to help prevent the build up of stress and energy blockages. This therapy combines La Stone body massage and La Stone facial together with the deeply therapeutic Decleor skin care products to achieved advanced results. Commencing with the facial element the skin is prepared for massage using the aromatherapeutic cleansing and exfoliating Decleor products, suited to your skin. After a mask the massage continues using alternate hot and cold stones.
