Acupuncture

Conducted by Dr Heli Ots, your treatment will start with a consultation to check your general state of health. Fine needles are then inserted in 12 to 15 points around the body to stimulate or suppress the flow of ‘Chi’. Acupuncture aims to restore the balance of Chi energy – a state of equilibrium when Yin and Yang are in harmony. Most people find acupuncture a pleasant and deeply relaxing experience. There should be no pain during the insertion of the needles. When the needles are inserted you may feel a slight tingling sensation, this indicates that the treatment is beginning to have some effect.

Acupuncture may relieve pain and suppress cravings and is widely used for stress relief. This is a 55 minute treatment.

The Body Composition Test is a simple test providing valuable information on your body’s make up. Body Composition is the amount of lean and fat weight that makes up your total body weight. Both lean and fat weights are measured in order to establish your ideal weight. The test will determine how many calories your body needs to lose, maintain or gain weight. This customised, full body oil massage uses many different approached from around the world, combined witht eh skill and knowlege of Ragdale's own Massage Specialist, Danny Allman.  Deep tissue and remedial massage techniques are used along with various muscular release movements to loosen all muscles, increase joint mobility and fight postural aches and pains.  Stretches are applied whilst another part of the body is massaged; this enables a long deep stretch to be held when it may otherwise be uncomfortable.  This therapy delivers a firm, flowing and rhythmical massage great for pure therapeutic relaxation, whilst actively working with your body to release localised and specific problem areas.  It is very different to traditional sports or remedial therapy as it treats the full body and the localised challenges as one.

Nail Paint, File and Tidy for Hands or Feet

An individual treatment for guests with well maintained nails. Nails will be lightly shaped, cuticles gently treated and nails painted. This should not be regarded as a manicure. This is a 25 minute treatment.

Natural Harmony Facial

A full facial that promotes relaxation and skin benefit.  Although this treatment is not as in-depth or powerful as the exclusive range, it offers a quality facial experience cleansing, exfoliating, massaging and applying a prescriptive mask. A prescription is included if appropriate and a relaxing hand massage is conducted whilst the mask is settling. Please note this treatment can be conducted using Clarins, Decleor or Elemis products and if you have nut allergies please note we can offer a nut free range in Spa Find. Naturopathic Consultation

Naturopathy is a method of curing disease by releasing inner vitality and allowing the body to heal itself. By asking detailed questions about the patient’s lifestyle and medical history, the naturopath aims to treat the causes of illness, not just the symptoms.

The patient’s health is assessed with a wide range of tailor-made tests to build up a complete picture of the condition of the mind and body.

This method involves the use of natural approaches, such as vitamin-mineral therapy, Bach flower therapy, diet advice, homeopathy and herbal medicine according to certain established principles. For example, herbs may be used to stimulate the body into action – elimination of toxins or aid in nutrition. Homeopathy may be used to stimulate the work of the specific organ or organ systems. Vitamins and minerals are prescribed to combat specific deficiencies.

This treatment is designed to treat aches, stiffness and injuries which stem from postural and occupational stress as well as sport. The experienced male practitioners will use manipulative and deep tissue techniques to help relax, stretch and strengthen muscles allowing both muscles and joints to regain their function. Helpful advice will be given to those individuals experiencing difficulties with problematic areas.

NB: As with all deep tissues massage there may be some soreness or discomfort during or after your treatment. To administer remedial therapy for injuries, a medical practitioner must have first made a diagnosis of that injury. This is a 50 minute treatment.
