Whilst the Treatments and Activities Price List provides details of medical contra-indications to specific treatments, it is your responsibility to ensure the treatments and activities you select are suitable for you so if you have any health concerns please consult your GP prior to your visit.
As most treatments include the application of oils or creams, a robe and underwear are most suitable. Please DO NOT wear any jewellery.
Usually underwear and a robe will be perfect (less time undressing, more time for the treatment). However, some of the holistic treatments, e.g. Shiatsu will require you to wear lose, comfortable clothing.

We understand that when guests come to Ragdale Hall they want to spend as much time together as possible. Our schedulers try to put treatments together however sometimes it is not possible. We will endeavour to meet them.
All our packages are carefully selected to offer each guest the best choice and variety of treatments. We will always take the safe approach where there is a contra indication and will endeavour to be flexible with inclusive treatments when similar exclusive treatments are booked.

We encourage guests to relax and not worry about having to get dressed or put make up on for dinner, also guests may be coming straight from a treatment into dinner. However, if you prefer to dress for dinner feel free to do so.
There is no dress code in the Dining Room, even for your evening meal, although we do ask that footwear is worn. We would also ask that wet swimwear is not worn underneath robes. Basically whatever you feel most comfortable in.
Yes please! As with your treatments we arrange meal times so that we can give each guest the absolute best service. If, however, you would like to move your time, please see a member of the team who will let you know what times we have available. The 2 mile walk is half on road, half off road.
The 6 mile walk/cycle is all on road and is 3 miles there and 3 miles back. There is an off road route, however we recommend you do not take this route as you would need to walk through cattle fields.
There is also a 14 mile cycle route which we only recommend for confident cyclists as part of the route is on the main road. A helmet must be worn if you decide to take this route.
By the pool, in your swimming costume.
You should wait on the seats just outside the gym for all classes and activities and the instructors will collect you from there.

The only classes that you need to book are denoted by an asterix on the fitness timetable.
To book into any fitness classes marked with an asterix simply call into the Gymnasium or telephone extension 318.

Suitable trainers must be worn for all classes and gym sessions and swimsuits are needed for the spa and pool areas.

Disabled parking spaces and parking service, Porter assistance, a private changing cubicle with shower and toilet designed for wheelchair access, full wheelchair access to all ground floor amenities and a disabled friendly room. We can also supply for your own use, a wheelchair.
From past experience and close monitoring, there are only a few weeks per year that this is a problem. As we have a fairly limited supply of power to the Hall, to install air conditioning in more places around the Hall would cause a massive amount of noise and disruption and would also be very costly. We feel the money would be better spent on improving other services and facilities.
We request you only take/make calls from your mobile in your bedroom, or outside if you are a day guest, or have checked out of your room. This is because we wish to preserve a relaxing atmosphere and allow guests to get away from phones and laptops.
We have approx 475

No you need to book a spa day or spa break. However our Hair Salon is accessible to outside clients and should you need to visit our Boutique, Gift Shop or Beauty Shop, you may do so if you sign in at Reception. This access is purely to the retail areas only.
If this is something you want to do on a regular basis why don't we send you our Country Club information? Country Club members can use the facilities and book treatments at any time within the restrictions of their membership type.
We also offer a Ragdale Experience Day from £95 which is designed for those who have specific treatment requirements and want to plan their own day, or guests who wish only to come and enjoy our facilities.
Everyone relaxes in different ways – some seek solitude, some company and the chance to chat. The Retreat, the Candle Pool and Thought Zone are 'silent – keep noise to a minimum' areas. For the rest of the Hall we feel that guests should have the opportunity to use facilities as they wish.
We are extremely conscious of preserving the quiet and relaxed ambience and do actively ask guests to turn off phones if they are talking on them. Rest assured that every guest is told of the policy on arrival i.e. use of mobile phones is only allowed in the privacy of your room. Some guests occasionally choose to ignore this request and we can only apologise for the annoyance it causes to all concerned. We will continue to do all we can to ensure Ragdale remains 'mobile free' in public areas within the Hall. However as mobiles can now also be used as cameras, for listening to music and for accessing the internet it is increasingly difficult to approach guests with mobiles if they are using them quietly – hence we will only approach a guest if they are talking.
Our staff have access to the gym and the Thermal Spa on a restricted basis as we believe the facilities should be for the exclusive use of our guests.

We try to offer good value for money, keeping prices as low as possible and prefer to give guests the choice of paying for these items only if they want to use them.
At Ragdale we offer many services that are included in the price of your package, such as; meals, exercise classes, use of the extensive spa and fitness facilities. Other establishments will charge extra for these. Therefore, as not all spa day guests require slippers/flip flops, we keep the cost of these out of the price of spa day packages (apart from the Ragdale Ultimate Day) and then give guests the option to purchase slippers/flip flops from the Boutique should they wish to.
Please note - a complimentary pair of Ragdale Hall flip flops are included in every spa break package.
As we take all of the other cards, we choose not to take American Express.

The gratuity is a 3% charge that is automatically applied to your final account, however, it excludes purchases made in the Boutique, Gift Shop or Beauty Shop. All receipts collected are for the benefit of our employees and a bonus is paid to the team on a quarterly basis. The gratuity is an optional charge and may be taken off your final bill or increased if you wish.
No our offers are based on dates rather than numbers also whilst we do welcome group bookings, there are certain conditions as we do wish to preserve a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
We have found through feedback from our guests that to truly benefit from the Ragdale experience, 1 night is not enough. We do however offer 1 night stays at late availability via our website.
We are unable to guarantee specific rooms for individuals as we have guests arriving on different dates for different lengths of stay. In order to be able to allocate rooms to each reservation for the required number of nights, without needing to change rooms, we need to be fully flexible in respect of which booking goes to which room. If you do have a preference we will naturally do our best to accommodate this request however for the reasons outlined previously this can not be guaranteed.

To ensure we offer all our guests maximum benefit from their visit we do need to stagger arrival times. This allows us to provide an efficient service to all guests, whilst delivering the highest levels of customer care.
Your arrival time is dependant upon the package you have booked and will be indicated on your confirmation letter.
As there are so many guests with so many different needs, it would be very difficult to set up a single and easily managed scheme to suit everyone.
We recognise and value the custom of our regular guests and have a number of initiatives that reward loyalty. Those include the "Return Offer" and exclusive promotions made available to our regular guests throughout the year via our mailings and email database.
We really appreciate your support of Ragdale Hall and hope you will return soon.
Ragdale is not a hotel and part of coming to a health spa is the joined up approach of relaxation, pampering, healthy eating and exercise. We have created packages to suit all needs and pockets and carefully chosen the inclusive treatments within them.
Whilst the nightly rate is higher in a single room, the guest does have exclusive access to the in room facilities rather than having to share these with another guest. In addition the servicing costs are just as high for one guest in a single room as it is for two guests sharing.
