Hot on the heels of Ragdale Hall’s owners, Penny Nesbitt and Michael Isaacs celebrating 25 years of their ownership in June, we now have two key members of the team celebrating the same milestone!
Head Gardener Andrew Nicolson, has for the last 25 years led a team of three who maintain the beautiful gardens and outdoor areas such as the Outdoor pool, pitch and putt course, boules court and archery area. The carefully nurtured, relaxing and unpretentious ambience of the interiors of the Hall have been cleverly and subtly mirrored in the gardens. With extensive lawns, beautifully shaded woodland areas, as well as plenty of trickling water features, the grounds are an oasis of calm.
Andrew and his team also watch over Ragdale’s resident wildlife including koi carp, goldfish, hares and water birds such as moor hens. And until her sad passing a few months ago, Ragdale’s much loved feline Raggles was also under Andrew’s care. Who is to know whether he will soon have another resident cat to look after…..?
Andrew also has the challenge of looking after all the indoor planting; the environment at Ragdale is so warm that this is tricky at times, especially in the sub tropical environment of the Thermal Spa.
Dean Hodgkin, Ragdale’s Fitness Consultant and much acclaimed international presenter and author has spent the last 25 years leading an ever evolving fitness offer. Ragdale offers probably the widest range of free fitness, water and relaxation classes in the country for all guests and members. He has tirelessly scoured the world for new sessions to breathe motivation and excitement into our offering.
Dean also advises on the best new equipment to purchase for our gym as well as setting standards for customer service that others aspire to. Dean has made it his mantra to provide sessions that are both effective and varied, but most importantly fun!
