Prior to booking……………it is best for you and your health during pregnancy, if you can visit us in the second or third trimester. During this time you can make most of your time here. The best packages to make the most of your pregnancy are 'The Pure Nurture Spa Day Package' and the 'Nurture Me Spa Break' in our Time for Me range found in our Spa Breaks page.
Once booked……………contact our Treatments and Activities Advice Line to discuss your inclusive package and agree modifications or changes where required.

For instance:- although we cannot offer our pregnant guests back massage traditionally, we do offer a special Pregnancy Back Massage. This is where you are seated at the side of the couch with a support for your shoulders and neck and the therapist works from behind you.

Or we can exchange your package treatments for treatments conducted on hands, feet, face or scalp. 

Don't forget that pregnancy is the ultimate test for skin tone and skin which, even if it's in great shape, will be much more resistant to loss of firmness and stretch marks. During the course of pregnancy regular body treatments will calm and soothe itchy dry skin, give some relief from excess fluid which leaves the lower legs and arms - especially ankles, feet and hands - puffy and feeling heavy, as well as give an essential boost to skin suppleness and firmness for the bust and body. While facials will help to soothe, calm and restore balance to skin stressed by hormonal change.

But the best bit is that you get a much needed hour or so in which to put your feet up and be pampered, which means that you leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and a great deal more comfortable.

Pregnancy may restrict you from being able to enjoy some of our treatments, however, we have two very special treatments listed below, that are exclusive to mothers-to-be.

Elemis Nurturing Massage for the Mother-To-Be
£69.00 85 mins
(Suitable from the 1st week of pregnancy but most beneficial from 18 weeks onwards)
Combines tried and tested safe pregnancy massage techniques adapted to each stage of pregnancy. Specialised positioning of our unique beanbag ensures the ultimate in comfort and relaxation. Relieves tension in the upper back and alleviates swelling in the hands and feet.

Some helpful Do’s and Don’ts……………………

• No massage or body treatments under 12 weeks – with the exception of the Elemis Nurturing Massage for the Mother-to-Be.
• We advise against to use of the sauna, steam, whirlpool and sanarium.
• Consider your own comfort during treatments. It is not advisable to lie flat on your back at 30+ weeks or in the case of multiple pregnancies from earlier in the pregnancy.
• If you have any special diet request? Please let us know in advance.
• Exercise
  You are able to continue if you have always exercised but it is probably not the best time to begin a new regime. We feel you will enjoy and benefit from relaxation classes, and water exercise is very supportive. Please inform the instructor so she can adapt the movements for you.
